The "2025 MGM Macao International Regatta" concluded successfully on January 12th, 2025. Organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, MGM, and Ursa Major Sailing Event Management. One of the event highlights is the introduction of the "World Match Racing Tour – Macao Match Cup," recognized by World Sailing, which will serve as the opening race of the 2025 season. The event will also feature two IRC categories: the "Lotus Cup Regatta" and the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cup Regatta."

The World Match Racing Tour, established in 2000, is one of the most prestigious sailing competitions globally, with the overall champion earning the title of World Champion. The Macao International Regatta will showcase the synergy of large-scale sports events, enhancing Macao's international standing as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure. It will also promote the development of local sports tourism, support the building of a “Sports City,” and contribute to economic diversification.
